SOMETHING BETWEEN YOU HAS TO
Change.
I cannot keep going back and forth with my child.
Nothing I've tried is working.
I'm worried about where this is headed.
I'm tired of yelling.
I'm tired of the disrespect.
We're constantly fighting.
I love my child.
I don't want this to define our relationship
If any of this has ever crossed your mind,
you're not looking for another parenting tip.
You're ready for something to actually change.
BUT THERE IS ANOTHER WAY.
You don't have to choose between
and expectations.
peace
You shouldn't have to give in just to keep the peace.
And you shouldn't have to damage the relationship just to hold the boundary.
We're not lowering expectations to preserve peace.
We're not sacrificing connection to enforce expectations.
We're learning how to do both.
Because the goal isn't to win the argument.
It's to change what happens when disagreement begins.

better way
By the end of Pause the Power Struggle™, you'll have practical tools to help you:

1. ARGUE A LOT LESS
Recognize when a disagreement is becoming a power struggle, and know how to interrupt it before it takes over.

2. RESPOND DIFFERENTLY
Catch the reactions that keep you stuck in the back-and-forth and choose a response that doesn't add fuel to the fire.

3. HOLD THE BOUNDARY
Stay clear about your expectations without yelling, overexplaining, threatening, or giving in just to end the argument.

4. MAKE ROOM FOR THEIR VOICE
Let your child question, disagree, and express frustration without treating every pushback as disrespect.

5. REPAIR SO MUCH FASTER
Know what to do after things go wrong so one bad interaction doesn't become days of tension and distance.

MEET YOUR MOMMY MENTOR

I know this struggle
From Both Sides
Hello there, I'm Tamara Braxton, but you can call me Tam. I'm a mom, educator, and behavior professional with more than 20 years in education.
Today, I work on the behavior intervention team in a middle school, helping students navigate the very behaviors, emotions, and conflicts that can make these years so challenging.
But I didn’t create Pause the POWER Struggle™ just because of what I know professionally.
I created it because I’ve lived it as a mom.
As a mom of a 7 and 17 year old, I know what it’s like when every ask seems to become an argument.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I know what it feels like to yell more than you want to.To hold consequences but wondering if any of it is actually working.
And most of all, I know what it feels like to realize:
I love my child. I just don’t want us to keep doing this to each other.
With my own son, I had to learn that I didn’t have to choose between holding my expectations and protecting our relationship.
I could do both.
And that’s what I want to help you learn to do, too.

From one mom who’s been there to another, you can change the pattern without losing the relationship.

Pause the Power Struggle
was created for the mom who...
✓ Gives a simple direction and somehow ends up in a 20-minute argument.
✓ Finds herself repeating, explaining, lecturing, or eventually yelling, just trying to get her child to listen.
✓ Doesn't want to give in just to keep the peace, but doesn't want every boundary to damage the relationship either.
------------------------------------------------
✓ Is tired of wondering whether she's being too hard, too soft, or doing the whole thing wrong.
✓ Wants her middle schooler to have a voice, but needs them to understand that having a voice doesn't mean being disrespectful.
✓ Knows something about the current pattern has to change and is willing to look at her own responses too, not just her child's behavior.
You don't need a perfectly behaved middle schooler.
You need a better way to handle the moments when they don't agree with you.
That's what we're going to build together.
STILL WONDERING IF THIS WILL WORK IN YOUR HOUSE?
Maybe you’re thinking...
“What if my child argues about EVERYTHING?”
That’s exactly why we’re not starting with trying to eliminate disagreement. You’ll learn how to recognize when a disagreement is turning into a power struggle, and what to do differently before you’re both pulled into it.
“What if I’ve already tried staying calm?”
Staying calm matters, but calm alone isn’t a strategy. You’ll build a clear plan for what to say, what not to keep explaining, when to offer a redo, and when it’s time to pause the interaction altogether.
“What if my child is the one being disrespectful?”
This isn’t about excusing disrespect or lowering your expectations. You’ll learn how to hold the standard without turning enforcement of the standard into another battle.
“What if I’m the one who keeps losing it?”
Then there’s a place for you here, too. One entire session helps you identify your triggers, recognize your own self-sabotaging responses, and create a pause plan for the moments when you need the reset.
You don't have to get every interaction right.
You just need a new pattern to come back to.
